Fun with Camalots

I no longer need to use a quickdraw for clipping Camalots since I reslung them with a doubled loop of spectra cord. The spectra cord is threaded through the old, tubular sling for color coding.

With apologies to John Byrnes for taking liberties with his original and very helpful post on rec.climbing (search for "reslinging cams" on www.dejanews.com)

The following suggestion was posted by Ethan Solomon:
Got another thought for ya - take ONE of the double loops and clip a biner through it. Place the knot near (1-2") the biner. Secure the biner with a rubber band like you would on the rope end of a draw. Now you can clip the second loop to rack short or extend the sling. This prevents: 1.) the biner from flipping about while you're trying to clip it 2.)biner from moving so cross loading occurs 3.)knot from moving and screwing up the works 4.) dropping the biner while reclipping.
