Frost Sentinel Nuts

Sometimes the simplest things are surprising. For me it was using Frost Sentinel Nuts.
"What's the diff?", I thought. A nut's a nut.
Cable length Well, a longer cable gives you greater reach and may actually let you make otherwise impossible placements. It also lets you do without an extra quickdraw in many situations. Faster placement. Cleaner rack.
Straight sides Chocks with curved edges grab nubbies, bumps, etc. But think of all the times you've come across fixed nuts where the curves just happened to catch some bump or the other in a totally nasty way. Sentinel Nuts have straight sides, so they clean easily with a linear motion.
Gradual taper Straight sides alone could make for wobbly placements. Sentinel Nuts have a long, gradual taper that sneaks snugly into the sides of a placement.

Racking I carry two sets of Sentinel nuts with long cables. One set is individually racked on Neutrino carabiners. The other set is racked all together on Kong Keylock Ovals to avoid the ...*urk*... snag.

So, a bit better here and a bit better there...but put all the bits together and you end up with a sweet combination. Whee!!!
  Oh yeah...almost forgot...
